Module 2: Tell and SELL your story

OVERVIEW & PURPOSE:

Every experience and challenge can be turned into a story (or Shooting S.T.A.R.) for your next interview.

Hiring managers don't expect you to know everything, but what they do want to know is HOW you approach complex and difficult situations, and your thought process behind those decisions.

Being able to clearly and concisely articulate your story is the best way to showcase how you will perform in a sales territory.  We will continue to build upon the links between your experience and the job you want, and dive deeper into who you are and why you do what you do.

In this module, we will cover:

  1. How to leverage your strengths
  2. How to answer questions in S.T.A.R. (situation, task, action, result) format
  3. Turning your S.T.A.R.s into "SHOOTING STARS"- being prepared with examples for the most commonly asked pharma interview questions
  4. How to compile your experiences, challenges, and accomplishments into a clear and compelling story

Module 3: Carrying the bag- a day in the life

OVERVIEW & PURPOSE:

It's important to understand the real-world environment of a pharmaceutical sales representative, particularly if you've only had experience in a traditional office setting.

The pandemic has shifted the ways in which we work- with more of a hybrid environment (virtual and in-person calls).

As you enter your job search, and begin to interview, it will be important to convey that you have a thorough understanding of the day to day operations of a pharmaceutical sales rep.

This not only shows the hiring manager that you've done your research, it also instills confidence that you will be ready to hit the ground running as soon as you get into your territory.

In sales, as in life, time is of the essence, so the shorter your learning curve, the quicker you'll be able to make an impact!

In this module, we will cover:
  • Industry Overview
    • Current Climate
    • Legal and Compliance
  • Sales Training
  • A day in the life
  • Territory Management

OVERVIEW & PURPOSE:

In this module, we get into the specifics around what else you should be prepared to discuss in an interview, and that is the basic information you should know about the industry, the company itself, the products you'll be selling, the competitive landscape, and what questions to ask. We'll also cover how to truly be unforgettable by creating your "Lagniappe", or a little something extra.  Finally, we will talk about how to seal the deal and ask for the job through mastering the art of closing.

Module Outline:
  • Doing your research
  • Formulating well thought out questions
  • Anticipating and addressing concerns
